Workplace Violence Prevention
Security in the workplace is everyone's responsibility. Complying with
College security policies and procedures protects us all. We expect employees to:
- Report violent or threatening behavior
- Refrain from carrying or storing weapons or dangerous materials and devices on our premise
- Properly use and protect all keys, passwords, ID cards, security devices, security doors, etc.
- Know where telephones or alarms are located and how to use them or who to call
- Support coworkers who encounter violence and encourage them to get help
- Report anything suspicious and anything that threatens the security of the workplace
Remember, the Campus Police Department operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and has commissioned police officers on duty at all times.

OCCC Awarded $25,000
Gena Ford, OCCC's Director of Grants and Contracts recently submitted a H.O.P.E. grant proposal for emergency funding. OCCC received $25,000 in funding to support our Humanities Department and Cultural Programs Division.
OCCC lost a friend and colleague with the passing of Gail Malmstrom in March of this year. Professor Malmstrom began her career as an Adjunct instructor in January 2002. She became a full-time Professor of Mathematics in January 2008. She will be greatly missed by all.
Whether you are new to OCCC or an employee who has worked on campus for a few years, you've probably met Jeff Sughru, our HR Benefits Specialist.
This past month, many of us have had the opportunity to work with Jeff during our Open Enrollment period. Employees can feel confident about his benefits knowledge and experience. He is committed to this role and an advocate for employees.
Thank you, Jeff, for all you do for us.
