Child Development Workroom

The Child Development Workroom is for Child Development Academic Programs.
This workroom offers Child Development students the equipment to complete projects including Ellison die cuts, paper cutters, computers and a printer and supplies too numerous to enumerate. Some equipment may be checked-out for observation/laboratory/fieldwork use only from Social Sciences Division office staff.

The Engineering Lab is an interdisciplinary area designed to accommodate the independent
study needs of students in the engineering classes.
Within the Engineering Lab we have a Group Lab, Materials Lab, outdoor instructional area, Classroom 1R1, and a common study area. The study area provides computer access, whiteboards, free tutoring, and a convenient setting for students to work on projects or in groups.
Lab Assistants
During posted hours, a Lab Assistant or Tutor is available to answer questions and assist students with their homework assignments. A schedule is available in the Engineering Lab.

The Simulation and Nursing Campus Laboratories at Oklahoma City Community College provide a rich hands-on learning environment for the Nursing Program.
Statement of Purpose
It is the goal of the Simulation and Nursing Campus Laboratories to provide students with an environment that builds confidence, supports learning and improves critical thinking.
Simulation and Skills
It is in the Simulation and Nursing Campus Laboratories that students are introduced to nursing skills, concepts and technologies prior to clinical experiences. The overall goal of our simulated clinical experiences is to assist the student in achieving and maintaining high standards of care for both common and uncommon clinical events.
Nursing students have access to several low- to high-fidelity simulators while enrolled in the nursing program. Simulation is used to replicate clinical situations to prepare the student for clinical practice through the application of theoretical knowledge and skills acquisition in a safe, supportive learning environment.
The simulation and nursing campus laboratories are home to multiple mid- to high-fidelity simulators, to include:

Psychology Lab
Location: Virtual
The Virtual Psychology Lab is an online resource dedicated to supporting students enrolled in any psychology course. The lab hosts live online weekly exam review sessions for General Psychology and live tutoring sessions for our courses such as General Psychology, Behavioral Statistics, and Developmental Psychology. Additional resources in the lab include assistance with writing and APA formatting of papers, help with Connect and Procotrio, and guest speakers.

The Speech Lab at OCCC provides students with a dedicated place to practice, refine,
and record their speeches. The lab can record student performances and email the video
directly to them, allowing students to review their work, receive feedback, and strengthen
their skills over time.

The Student Computer Center will:
- Assist currently enrolled students with OCCC classwork
- Offer student assistance with course hardware/software problems.
- Provide a comfortable place to work.
- Assist students who attend class and get instructions from their professors.
- Provide equipment and resource materials as available for use in the lab.
The Student Computer Center will NOT:
- Teach students course work taught in class.
- Serve as a substitute for those who choose not to attend class.
- Provide undivided attention, especially when the lab is busy.
- Determine the grade or accept responsibility for the grade a student earns.
- Guarantee that assignments done with lab assistance will meet the requirements of the professor.
- Assume responsibility for a student's work
Procedures:
- Students must sign in and out, and if asked must show their current OCCC student ID.
- Students should review all material (i.e. textbook, handouts, and Lab Sheets) prior to coming into the lab.
- Lab assistants are provided to assist you with hardware, general computer operations and basic software/programming functions. (i.e. saving, quitting, printing, plotting, backing up disks, etc.).
- Students are expected to use their books, reference manuals, class notes and built-in help functions.
- Students should also consult their instructors for assistance.
- Students should exit all programs and return to the Windows Desktop before leaving the computer.
- Students should inform their instructor if any module does not work as described in the class materials.
Rules:
Due to the limited number of computers in this lab, the following restrictions will be enforced.
- Students who will be leaving a computer unattended for 10 minutes or more must notify the lab staff. If the lab staff has NOT been notified and other students are waiting for a computer, personal items that are left at the unattended computer will be moved by the campus security to a secure area.
- Students are not allowed to bring food & drinks into the lab.
- Children are not allowed in the lab.
- The telephone is for faculty and staff use only. Students may receive emergency calls.
- Cell phone usage is permitted, but must be set on silent or vibrate, and must be used at an appropriatevolume for a study environment.
- Students are not allowed to install or use any outside software in the lab. This includes: AOL Messenger, Yahoo Messenger, ICQ or any messenger/chat software
- Students may not change, modify, or update computer configurations unless authorized by an instructor or lab staff. (i.e. screen savers, wallpapers, printers, network properties, screen properties, etc.).
- Students are not allowed to move, change, or replace any computer peripheral.
- Copying, softlifting, (stealing) of software is prohibited, and students caught will be reported to campus security.
- Students are not allowed to use the lab resources or printers for personal use. If you are using the lab then you must be working on OCCC classwork.
Students should conduct themselves as professionals while in the lab; profanity, verbal abuse, and all forms of dishonesty will not be tolerated in the lab. Violations will be reported to the Office of Student Life as a student conduct code violation (Refer to Student Handbook -- Student Conduct and Appeals)

Tech Fab is a collaborative learning space that facilitates learning through the use of manufacturing and fabrication technologies using computer-aided design/drafting (CAD) technologies.
The labs are open to any student, but unless they are currently enrolled in a Digital fabrication class, then they have to bring their own materials to use the equipment.
Tech Fab is equipped with 3D printers, CNC Machine, Laser Cutter and more to enable participants to create real prototypes of their computer-generated designs.
