Scholarship Workshop
April 25th
11:30-1:30 in CU 3

Dear single parent students of OCCC:

We hope that you can join us for a scholarship workshop on April 25th from 11:30-1:30 in CU 3. We will discuss the scholarship opportunity provided by the Oklahoma Single Parent Scholarship Association for the Fall 2018 semester and review some best practices for writing a scholarship essay.  The generous $1,000 scholarships provided by the Association are specifically awarded to eligible, selected OCCC single parents. The link to the scholarship information is provided for your convenience: .  Please note that the completed application  must be postmarked by June 30th, 2018.   In case you are unable to attend for the full duration of the workshop, here is an  overview of the event order:

  • Oklahoma Single Parent Scholarship overview and FAQs (30 minutes)
  • Best practices for writing scholarship essays (20-30 minutes)
  • Questions about applying for other scholarship opportunities( 10-15 minutes)

If you are not certain you qualify for the Oklahoma Single Parents Scholarship, please keep in mind there are a number of scholarships and grants out there for single parents pursuing a college degree. This workshop will be of great assistance to apply for any scholarship in terms of completing and submitting the types of documentation required for monetary assistance.
