This voluntary program provides services and supports women of childbearing age, pregnant women, mothers and their babies, infants and children up to age two years, and expecting fathers or father of a child under the age of two.

Services and support provided include:

• Parenting education
• Pregnancy education
• Breastfeeding education and support
• Relationship development and support
• Reproductive life planning
• Healthy lifestyle choices
• Home visits
• Community service

They also connect families with insurance enrollment assistance, referrals to doctors/clinics, food assistance, job training, parenting programs, nutrition and feeding counseling.

For mothers-to-be expecting their first baby, who are less than 28 weeks pregnant and who want to learn all they can about becoming a parent. This voluntary, client-centered program is tailored to meet individual needs. The program provides in-home visits by a nurse. Participants learn about pregnancy, fetal development, what to expect during labor and delivery, breast-feeding or bottle-feeding, how to give baby a bath, and how to begin life as a parent are covered. The nurse will continue to make weekly and bi-weekly visits to weigh and measure the baby and educate expectant mothers learn about the baby’s growth and development to help them through the challenges that every new parent faces.

FIMR (Fetal and Infant Mortality Review)

SafeCare is a clinical outcome program designed to help families meet the health, safety, and well-being needs of their young children. Families who have at least one child the age of 5 or younger, who live in Oklahoma County or Cleveland County, and who do not have a child welfare investigation with DHS, qualify for this program.
