Oklahoma Tuition Aid Grant (OTAG)

OTAG is a grant offered by the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education (OSRHE) to residents of Oklahoma who attend Oklahoma's public and private colleges and universities. Students must apply for federal student financial assistance to be considered. Students must file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) available from the College Financial Aid Office or on-line at www.fafsa.gov. The OTAG program, operated by the OSRHE, determines potential recipients based on applicant data received from the Federal Central Processing System. The following steps occur in the determination of eligibility for OTAG awards:

• The OTAG program receives your data from the Federal Central Processing System.
• The OTAG program sets April 15 as a priority date for receipt of your data from the federal system. This date may change dependent on available funds from the OTAG Program.
• OTAG applies its own analysis to your data to determine potential eligibility.
• The OTAG program sends applicant rosters to Oklahoma City Community College's Student Financial Aid Office for eligibility checks to clear applicants for actual awards.
• Financial Aid must check all eligibility criteria for receipt of federal funds and Oklahoma residency before you can be cleared for further consideration by OTAG.
• After Financial Aid clears your record and notifies OTAG, you will be considered for an OTAG award. Not all applicants receive an award from the OTAG Program.
• Award rosters are sent to Financial Aid and you are notified by OTAG. All awards on your Award Offer on MineOnline including OTAG are estimated, not final. Funding shortages may lead to awards being reduced or cancelled or the processing of awards may be suspended.
• Financial Aid reaffirms eligibility and gives final clearance for you to receive OTAG funds.
• The OTAG program works with the Office of State Finance to send funds to the College. Financial Aid makes final assessment of your eligibility before applying funds to your student account.
• Awards are either full-time or part-time, and you must be in at least six credit hours at OCCC.
• Awards are contingent upon your continued eligibility for Federal Title IV Student Aid.
• If your level of enrollment has changed (full-time or part-time) or other eligibility factors are different from original data which was certified by Financial Aid to the OTAG program, your funds will be returned to be voided or a lesser amount will be applied to your account. This includes adjustments to reduce an overaward of financial aid funds as required by federal regulations.
• If you are applying for Federal Student Financial Assistance complete all document requests from Financial Aid in a timely manner to establish a complete file. Until your file is complete, it cannot be reviewed for OTAG or other assistance. This will delay receipt of any funds you qualify for or may cause you to lose funds.
