Speech-Language Pathology Assistant Program

Teacher with student

Schedule a virtual Next Gen ACCUPLACER.

If you are interested in working with children or adults who are experiencing communication delays and disorders, then this field of study is for you.

Speech-language pathology assistants are prepared to work with a licensed and certified speech-language pathologist. Because there is a shortage of speech-language pathologists in Oklahoma while the need for professionals to work with children and adults continue to grow, great job opportunities are waiting for OCCC graduates in this program.

You must apply and be accepted for admission to OCCC and the Speech-Language Pathology Assistant Program.  Applications are accepted for fall entry only for the program.

Special application procedures must be followed by those planning to pursue admission in to this program. More information about health program applications.

You may want to consider attending one of the information sessions scheduled throughout the semester.  These sessions will provide you with additional information and allow you to ask questions.

A class will be selected from eligible applicants who have been ranked according to GPA (see application). Remaining applicants will be placed on an alternate list.  Notification will be sent via your college email address and is usually sent 8 weeks after the application deadline date.

Please note, upon admission there is a mandatory two day on campus orientation the first Monday and Tuesday of August before the start of the fall semester.
