Course Redesign – Year 4
Three gateway courses participated in Title III during Year 4: American Federal Government, Business Communications and Introduction to Computers & Applications. Meeting weekly with the Title III Curriculum Specialist and Project/Activity Director, faculty teams followed the Understanding by Design framework to redesign their courses.
Each team explored a variety of learning theories to inform their curriculum design and investigated various effective learning strategies to incorporate into the course. Teams worked diligently to fulfill the goal of the redesign process, which was to support student learning and improve student success in these courses.
Faculty Training on Revised Curriculum
At the conclusion of the course redesign process, the American Federal Government, Business Communications and Introduction to Computers & Applications teams each developed a training for full-time and adjunct faculty who would be teaching the redesigned course.
Course redesign teams presented training sessions in June and July of 2018 on the new revised curriculum.
