Biological Sciences Center (BSC)

The Biological Sciences Center is located on the second floor of the Robert P. Todd Science, Engineering & Math Center (SEM) and Entry 2. The BSC is an interdisciplinary area designed to accommodate the study needs of students in the biological sciences. Free tutoring is available.

On Campus Services

  • Tutoring ~ Tutors are available in the Biological Science Center to answer questions about materials relevant to biological sciences.
  • Access to Models ~ Tables are organized by class and are prepared with the course’s current unit materials. If you are working ahead, you may ask tutors for appropriate models or materials.
  • Study ~ Students are welcome to study in the Biology Science Center without the use of equipment or tutoring services.
  • Computer Access ~ Computer access is available for student use. Printing is unavailable in the BSC but is available in the OCCC Library.

Special Protocols for Entering the BSC

Masks are required to be worn at all times in the Biology Science Center. Gloves and hand sanitizer are provided and optional. Sinks are available for hand washing. Students are encouraged to clean their workspaces and equipment after use with provided cleaning products. Food and drink are not allowed.

What the Biology Science Center is Doing to Keep you Safe During the Pandemic

Our staff is taking precautions by wearing masks in the science center. We will also be disinfecting tables, models, and computers/computer equipment every two hours. Our seating has been spaced to encourage social distancing.


Lab Services

Students complete lab exercises, online lab exams, and approved special projects in the BSC. Access to computers for assigned lab activities and the Internet is available on a space-available basis. Computers for assigned lab exams have priority over other computer use. Free tutorial services are available for any OCCC biological science courses.

SCHEDULING is UNAVAILABLE until further notice

To access the BSC, individuals must have their OCCC Student ID card, be currently enrolled in a Biology course, and successfully complete the lab safety orientation in the BSC.  Students create lab exam appointments using online scheduling or in person as walk-ins if space is available.  Lab exercises and/or studying may be done on a walk-in basis.  To cancel appointments use the online scheduling. Appointments cannot be made or cancelled over the phone.

Individuals using BSC facilities and resources must follow the Oklahoma City Community College laboratory safety policies and procedures including procedures contained in the Bloodborne Pathogen Student Exposure Plan and the Student Conduct Code. Accommodations for students with disabilities are available.

The Biological Sciences Center will follow building closure hours as directed by college. These hours are subject to change, particularly around holidays. To confirm hours, call in advance.
