With the support of the Arnall Family Foundation, Oklahoma City Community College established the Fostering Higher Education program to support students formerly in foster care.
The program consists of three primary components: student success advising for all students formerly in foster care, scholarships to support a number of these students as they work to achieve their educational goals, and targeted student financial support. The specifics follow:
Scholarships
25 students will receive a $1500 competitive scholarship each year to attend Oklahoma City Community College. The $1500 can be used for tuition, fees, or books.
For more information or to apply for the $1500 scholarship, visit the OCCC Foundation Scholarship portal.

Student Success Advisor (SSA)
A Student Success Advisors will be assigned for each student as a point of contact for the program. SSA’s will contact Student Support Services for Travel and Clothing Assistance. An SSA is embedded in each academic division at the College with special training to meet the unique needs of students formerly in foster care.
Transportation Assistance
25 students will get $250 per year for travel; either a gas card or bus pass is available. Students should see their SSA for assistance. SSA’s should contact Student Support Services for Transportation Assistance.
