High School Equivalency (HSE) Classes

Courses

OCCC's Community Outreach and Education department offers free High School Equivalency (GED® or HiSET ®) courses to the community in eight week sessions throughout the year.  Certified instructors work with students to meet their educational needs, building from foundational skills and preparing students with everything they'll need to pass the GED® or HiSET ® exams.

Classes are located in Bethany, South Oklahoma City, and Midwest City. We do our best to place you in a class as close to your home or work as possible.
calendar

To make our classes as accessible to as many as possible, we offer them on a Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday schedule, both of which are available in the morning (9:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.) or evening (6:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.). Online classes are also available.

clipboard Students take an assessment test when enrolling to help us target their greatest areas of need.  This allows us to place students in an appropriate class working only on the skills they need.  Level 1 classes build foundational skills while Level 2 classes focus on test prep.

Enrollment

Students can enroll by attending an orientation session. These orientations will introduce students to our program and the resources available to help them achieve their educational and career goals. We will also place students in a class based on the assessment.

Orientation is a two day process. The first day of orientation will take the entire 3-hour period. Students may come to the second day of orientation any time during the 3-hour open enrollment period.

To reserve your seat at one of the enrollment orientations, please call 405.682.7873.
