Student Life Student Government Association (SGA)

The OCCC Student Government Association (SGA) is a dynamic and inclusive organization dedicated to representing the interests of the OCCC student body. Our members include representatives from every official student club, club advisors, and five committees, all led by a five-officer executive board. This inherent diversity allows us to effectively serve as a communication channel between OCCC students, college leadership, and the Oklahoma State Government Association (OSGA).

At the SGA, we offer OCCC students invaluable opportunities for growth and development through:

Leadership Training: Empowering students to become confident and capable leaders.
Legislative Experience: Providing firsthand experience in the legislative process.
Hands-on Program and Activity Planning: Actively engaging students in organizing and executing various programs and activities.
Communication Skills: Enhancing students’ abilities to communicate effectively in diverse settings.

2024/2025 SGA Officers

	Hiram Ophiohonren, president Major: Mechanical Engineering Why you joined SGA: The reason I joined the SGA was that I saw a need for more student engagement on campus here at OCCC, and because of this desire I have to give back to OCCC, I decided to run for president so that I can play my part in achieving the goal of student government, which is to represent the student body. Hobbies: I love watching movies, volunteering, playing table tennis, playing video games, meeting new students, and getting involved at school.
	Grace Kouassi, vice president Major: Political Science Why you joined SGA: To create a vibrant community at school with events; also, SGA is a good way to develop leadership capabilities. Hobbies: Crocheting, watching football (soccer), love interacting with my friends and family.
	Joycelyn Ankara, secretary Major: Nursing Why you joined SGA: I joined the SGA to connect with peers and advocate for students’ interests on campus. I also joined the SGA to help improve student participation in campus activities and offer support in the planning and execution of campus activities and projects. Hobbies: Reading, volunteering, playing video games and watching TV shows.
	Julianna Delgado, treasurer Major: Business Why you joined SGA: I envision enhancing the student experience at OCCC. Every student deserves access to opportunities that nurture their growth and empower them to reach their fullest potential. I want to create spaces where students can come together to embrace their diverse talents and backgrounds and leave with a sense of belonging at their college. Hobbies: I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, doing community service, going on a walk with my dogs, reading books, watching movies, and having ice cream.
	Bruna Chamusca Alves Dias, director of public relations Major: History and Political Science Why you joined SGA: Desire to change and help my student community. Hobbies: Planting and painting.

SGA Collaboration Form

The SGA is excited to partner with student clubs and organizations for campus-wide events. Use the Event Collaboration Request Form to propose your event, including details, funding needs, and goals. The SGA will assist with planning, programming, and funding. Submit the form online at least one month before your event date to ensure timely review.

SGA Funding Request Form

The SGA provides financial support to student clubs and organizations for their events and meetings. Use the Funding Request Form to detail your event, funding needs, and goals. Submit your request online at least one month before you need the funds to allow for review and processing.
