Associate in Arts
The histories of families, tribes, towns, villages, countries and significant events have been documented through records, artifacts and images. Gain insight into how past civilizations and cultures evolved, and how their experiences shaped values, beliefs, decisions and traditions for centuries. An Associate in Arts in History is ideal if you’re interested in analyzing and understanding the significance of historical events and their lasting impact. Your knowledge of the past can help you become a more informed citizen, and, through the study of history, you will develop skills that will aid you in all of your college classes and future career.

We offer many scheduling options to fit your busy life so you can complete courses in a more flexible time frame. From on-campus 8-week and 16 -week classes, hybrid, and online classes, there is a class format tailored to your needs.
Guaranteed Transfer
Oklahoma City Community College is proud to have transfer agreements with some of the best colleges and universities in the state of Oklahoma. Your AA or AS Degree will transfer to all Oklahoma public 4-year colleges and universities if you complete your AA or AS degree with a C or better – and the remaining 60 credit hours in a school of arts and sciences at the four-year public institution of your choice.
High School Students
Are you currently a high school student interested in getting ahead by earning college credit while still in high school, at a fraction of the cost? Look no further than OCCC’s concurrent enrollment program. Taking General History here at OCCC counts as a core transferable elective for all of Oklahoma’s 4-year colleges. Concurrent enrollment is open to incoming high school juniors and seniors. If you are a high school freshman or sophomore, please see our early start program. Students can enroll in courses at OCCC, which allows them to earn high school and college credits at the same time, saving both time and money.
