Academic Scholars Program

Are you a senior with high academic ability? If you are a top Oklahoma scholar who is graduating from high school in 2021, this incentive program was made for you! Apply today for this scholarship which will help cover the cost of tuition, fees, and books.


Sponsored by the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education, OCCC’s 7 institutional nominees to the Academic Scholars Program will receive a four year scholarship which can be transferred to any in-state college or university after completion of two years or 48 credit hours at OCCC. During the first two years, recipients will receive a tuition waiver from OCCC and $1100 per semester from the Regents, which will offset the cost of fees and books.

The application deadline for the program is March 1st.

Students selected to be institutional nominees will be emailed an award offer. Acceptance of the award is required and should be sent to the Office of Financial Aid no later than May  1st.

Eligibility Requirements

  1. To be eligible and considered, applicants must have a minimum national ACT composite of 29 or a 3.7 GPA and be within the top 5% of their class rank, or a 3.7 GPA and 26 ACT or SAT equivalent
  2. Must be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States (no exceptions)
  3. Must be an Oklahoma resident
  4. Must be admitted to OCCC, submit the scholarship application, upload national ACT scores and at least a 6 semester high school transcript by March 1st
  5. Must be a 2021 high school graduate
  6. Must sign and submit an acceptance letter no later than May 1st

Continued Eligibility

  1. Must maintain a 3.25 cumulative GPA or higher
  2. Must maintain full-time enrollment (12 hours in the fall and spring and six hours in the optional summer or January term) each semester
  3. Must be enrolled no later than the first day of classes for the Fall and Spring semesters
  4. Must complete at least 24 semester credit hours each year or at least 30 semester credit hours if taking the option of summer funding
