A Melinda Doolittle Christmas

Please join us for an hour on Tuesday, December 8 at 12:30 PM for a special presentation by Ms. Melinda Doolittle. She will discuss her upbringing and dreams, and how they led to her success on American Idol. Ms. Doolittle will also discuss her book “Beyond Me”, a memoir of her life and career. After a couple of musical selections, there will be a question and answer period. This free event will be held in the Visual and Performing Arts Center Theater, and is open to students, faculty, staff, and community.
Melinda Doolittle became a household name on Season Six of American Idol. According to Simon Cowell, Melinda is the “one who should have won.” Since her time on Idol, Melinda has wowed audiences everywhere, from the White House to the Musicians Hall of Fame, and from the Kennedy Center to Carnegie Hall.
Melinda Doolittle has shared the spotlight with some of the very artists for whom she previously sang background, as well as music luminaries such as Peter Cetera, Cyndi Lauper, and the renowned Boston Pops Orchestra.
Now, Melinda Doolittle brings her soulful voice to your favorite Christmas songs, along with originals such as “God Bless Us Everyone,” which she co-wrote with songwriter Regie Hamm (“Time of My Life”). From sacred to Motown, get ready to laugh, cry, and reminisce as you celebrate the most wonderful season of all with Melinda Doolittle.
