How do I get to the OCCC Visual and Performing Arts Center (VPAC) or the Bruce Owen Theater?
The OCCC Campus is located on the southwest corner of SW 74th and S. May Avenue, 7777 S. May Avenue, Oklahoma City, OKĀ 73159, just south of I-240.
Where do I park?
- Visual and Performing Arts Center (VPAC) - Upon entering the OCCC campus, drive on Faculty Circle to either Lot C or Lot D. The OCCC VPAC Theater is the large glass structure with white columns on the northwest side of campus. Parking is Free. VIP parking is for Crescendo Club members, subscribers who donate $250.00 or more to the Cultural Projects Fund.Ā That parking lot is held for them before Performing Arts Series shows only and available to the general public otherwise.
- Bruce Owen Theater - Upon entering the OCCC campus, drive on Faculty Circle to Lot D. The theater is located inside OCCC's Arts and Humanities Center, just southeast of the VPAC. The entrance closest to the Theater Lobby is College Union Entry #1 (CU1). Ā You can also enter via Arts and Humanities Entry #2 (AH2).Ā Parking is free.
What access, seating and parking is available for visitors with disabilities?
OCCC is an ADA compliant campus and all entries are wheelchair accessible. All OCCC parking lots have designated handicap parking spaces which are clearly identified and reserved for vehicles displaying a valid handicap parking permit. Handicap parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis and may not be reserved in advance.Ā The VPAC also provides drop off/pick-up areas close to the main entrances of the building lobby, off lots C and D. Ā For the Bruce Owen Theater, a circular drive, off of Parking Lot D, is available for easy drop-off and pick-up.Ā It is located just outside College Union (CU) Entry 1.Ā Both theaters have wheelchair accessible seating along with companion seats.
How early should I arrive for an event?
Doors to the theaters open 30 minutes before a scheduled event. For a first-time visitor to the Visual and Performing Arts Center Theater, or the Bruce Owen Theater, we recommend you arrive on campus no later than 30 minutes prior to a performance to allow for enough time to park and find the theater lobby, concessions and restrooms.
What if I arrive late?
Late seating is provided at the first available break in a performance. Occasionally this hold can be up to 15 minutes or longer. Ā Ushers will instruct you when it is appropriate to enter the theater.Ā The lobby of the theater has seating and monitors that broadcast the production.
Can I buy tickets at the door?
Yes. Tickets may be purchased, using cash or credit card, in the theater lobbies one hour prior to a performance, if seats are available.Ā Some shows sell-out.Ā Purchasing tickets ahead of time is recommended.Ā A box office representative will be available through intermission.

Where can I purchase tickets ahead of time?
To purchase tickets in person ahead of time, using cash or credit card, visit the OCCC Box Office Monday through Friday between the hours of 9:00 AM & 5:00 PM. The Box Office is located inside of the Visual and Performing Arts Center (VPAC), around the corner to the left from the theater lobby ā office # VPA161.Ā The VPAC building is located on the NW side of the Oklahoma City Community College campus, located at 7777 S. May Avenue.
Are there group discounts for the shows?
Yes! Groups between 10 and 19 save 10% off each ticket. Groups of 20 or more save 15% off each ticket and receive 2 complimentary tickets for a group leader and bus driver. To get these discounts, please call the OCCC Box Office, 405-682-7579.
What is Will Call and where can I find it?
Will Call is a place (typically the box office in a theater lobby) where tickets that have been paid for in advance can be picked up.Ā These Will Call tickets will be available one hour prior to each performance at the box office in the lobby of the VPAC and at a table in the lobby of the Bruce Owen Theater. A photo I.D. may be requested.
May I bring beverages and food into the theater?
Items purchased at VPAC concessions may be brought into the VPAC theater.Ā Items purchased from an OCCC vending machine may be brought into the Bruce Owen Theater. Outside food and drink is not allowed in either theater.
What should I wear?
Patrons typically wear attire appropriate for a theatrical performance.Ā This falls in the range of dressy casual to semi-formal attire.
Are children allowed?
Children 6 years and older are allowed into most performances. All infants and children must have a ticket and be accompanied by an adult. To confirm if a production is appropriate for your child/children, please call 405-682-7579 prior to purchasing tickets. If your child creates a disturbance, you will be asked to kindly remove the child / children from the theater. The lobby of the theater has seating and monitors which broadcast the production.
Is Coat Check available?
At this time, Coat Check is not available at either theater.
Are recording devices/photographs allowed at your shows?
Unless so indicated in the program, photography and audio/video recordings of any kind are strictly prohibited during any performance, except by authorized OCCC personnel.
Is smoking allowed?
OCCC is a smoke-free campus. Use of tobacco products, including electronic cigarettes and vapes, anywhere on the OCCC campus grounds, is strictly prohibited by law. Ā Violators run the risk of being ticketed by the OCCC Police Department and requested to leave.
May I use my cell phone or other electronic device during the performance?
Patrons with cellular telephones, alarm watches and/or electronic paging systems will be asked to turn their devices off prior to the start of each performance. Ā Until then, youāre encouraged to check-in and post on social media to let everyone know how much fun youāre having!Ā To ensure all patrons can enjoy the show without distractions, however, we ask that everyone refrains from scrolling their phones, making and receiving phone calls, and from texting while a production is underway.Ā And, of course, no photos, videos or audio recordings.Ā The lobby of the theater has seating and monitors which broadcast the production.
Can I make a monetary donation to OCCC Cultural Programs?
Yes! Donations are welcome and may be tax deductible. You may donate through the OCCC Foundationās donation portal at occc.edu/foundation.Ā Once on the website, click GIVE NOW in the upper right-hand corner and, in the drop-down menu, select Cultural Programs.Ā You may also donate by calling 405-682-7579.
