Students will demonstrate understanding of essential concepts in 20th century physics. Topics investigated include relativity, quantization, atomic models, quantum mechanics, atomic physics, statistical mechanics, and the current standard model of particle physics. Students solve problems using mathematical methods including ordinary differential equations.
