This course satisfies three credit hours of the General Education Humanities for all Associate in Arts, Science, and Diversified Studies degrees. Course units will examine selected episodes or periods in the history of science from ancient times until the present day. The course will treat the interaction of science and scientists with the social context as well as the internal structure and evolution of scientific ideas. Explanations of scientific theories and principles are not technical, and no special competence in science or mathematics is required.
