The student will discuss problems of economic stabilization, types of spending, the role of gold, limitations of central bank control, government fiscal policy, balance of payments, and foreign exchange, showing their repercussions on the banking industry in affecting yield curves and the structuring of portfolios. (This course is generally offered in the spring semester only.)
