I give, so we can

For years, faculty and staff members have come together to help improve the lives of our students through contributions during the annual campus campaign. The 2022 WeCan! campaign this year runs from October 31 through November 4, and we invite you to join us as we do things together that we could not do alone. Will you take the pledge: I give so we can?

Why we give – a student’s story

“This scholarship will help me reach my goal by giving me the opportunity to follow my dreams. Back in the day I always thought that it would be impossible for me to go to college because it is very expensive. I always thought to myself where l would get the kind of money that I need to go to college. I come from a family that teaches me that you must work for what you want in life. That’s one of the reasons why I’m working at Oklahoma City Community College. I have a long way to go. But, sooner or later my dreams will come true, and I will be able to get my associates degree.”

The challenge

Will you commit $5 per pay period through payroll deduction or $10.83 per month on your credit card? That equals $130 per year, or roughly the equivalent of one credit hour of tuition and fees for a student scholarship. Any gift of any size is appreciated and welcome, but we hope you’ll consider giving at this level.

How to participate

• Complete the payroll deduction authorization form for your gift of $5 or more to automatically be deducted from your check each pay period beginning with the first of the year.
• Visit the Foundation for OCCC’s secure online giving page to make a one-time or recurring monthly gift using your credit card
• Write a check (payable to Foundation for OCCC) and bring it to the Foundation office in Room 101 in the Library

It pays to give

Every employee who makes a contribution of any amount gets a canvas shopping bag as our thank you. If you give at the $5 per pay period or $10.83 per month level, you will also get a 20-ounce insulated tumbler featuring the WeCan! logo to let everyone know you support our students.
