Alceste is obsessed with the young and exuberant Parisian socialite Célimène. Only one problem; he hates socializing and all of the fakery surrounding polite society. Nevertheless, he strives for Célimène’s affections, competing against her several other suitors, all of whom delight in the snobbery of the aristocracy. Will he win her love or face a life of loneliness and solitude? Join us as we watch the comic results of his courtship play out in this one-act adaptation of Molière’s “The Misanthrope.”
