Your instructors are some of your biggest fans on campus! They want to see you succeed, and succeed well. Therefore, you must build a relationship with your instructors early on, each semester. The first step in this process is to understand exactly what your professor expects from you in their course and to communicate any questions that you may have with them. Your course syllabus is a great place to begin this process because it is a contract between you and your professor
Departmental Resources
While you are on campus, be sure to know what offices are available to assist you with a wide range of resources. Here is a list of offices we frequently refer students to for assistance:
Academic Divisions– Business & Information Technology, Arts, English & Humanities, Health Professions, Science, Engineering and Mathematics, Social Science, and Prior Learning Assessment
Records – transcripts, student ID, parking tags, enrollment verification
Graduation – applying for graduation, applying for academic forgiveness, evaluating transcripts
Bursar – student balance payments, refunds, tax information
Financial Aid – processing of student financial aid, submitting required forms related to your aid
Student Life – student clubs and organizations, awards, career services
Student Accessibility and Support – Counseling, Disabilities, and Veteran Services
TRIO – Provides academic tutoring, personal counseling, mentoring, financial guidance, and other supports necessary for educational access and retention for eligible students.
