OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (July 28, 2023) —
Oklahoma City Community College’s 2023-2024 Touring Attractions season includes 11 shows featuring top artists from around the world, showcasing musicians and singers, Broadway’s best and memories from decades gone by.
The season begins Sept. 8 with “The Wonder Bread Years: A Fresh and Funny Salute to Americana,” followed by “Forever Motown: So Good for the Soul!” on Sept. 14. Other shows include “On Your Feet! The Story of Emilio & Gloria Estefan,” “The Immortal Jellyfish Girl” and “Jerry Herman: The Broadway Legacy Concert.”
“I firmly believe that the arts and entertainment have a unique power to unite, inspire, and give voice to complex emotions,” said Lemuel Bardeguez, OCCC director of Cultural Programs. “The 2023-2024 Touring Attractions, more than ever, exemplify that very ethos. As we continue to emerge from challenging times, our commitment to enriching the cultural fabric of our college and Oklahoma City community through meaningful and unforgettable performing arts experiences has never been stronger. We invite everyone to join us on this exciting journey as we come together to capture unforgettable memories and experience the inspiring performances featured in this season’s lineup.”
This year, OCCC will continue to offer the Performing Arts Series (PAS) main-stage attractions in the Visual and Performing Arts Center Theater. Additionally, OCCC is introducing Intimate Encounters (IE), a new fringe series of special performances designed to play best in a smaller venue. The IE series will take place in the Bruce Owen Theater, located on campus in the Arts and Humanities Center.
OCCC’s Touring Attractions are supported in part by the E.L. and Thelma Gaylord Foundation and the Oklahoma Arts Council, which receives support from the state of Oklahoma and the National Endowment for the Arts.
Season tickets are now on sale. Individual tickets go on sale for the first two shows on Aug. 1. Other show tickets will go on sale intermittently throughout the season. On-sale dates can be found online at occc.edu/pas.
