Two prominent local attorneys have been selected to serve on the Board of Trustees for the Foundation for Oklahoma City Community College: Donald B. Nevard and Anthony J. Hendricks each began a three-year term at the February meeting of the board.
“We are very grateful that Don and Anthony have accepted our invitation to serve on our Board of Trustees,” said Foundation for OCCC Executive Director Evelyn Schaefer. “They bring exceptional professional expertise as well as interesting and compelling life experiences. The students at OCCC will ultimately benefit from their service on the board.”
Nevard is a practicing attorney and partner with the Oklahoma City law firm Derryberry & Naifeh, as well as an accomplished photographer. His photography has been featured in an exhibit in the Inasmuch Foundation Art Gallery in the OCCC Visual and Performing Arts Center. Prior to joining Derryberry & Naifeh, he served as Oklahoma Assistant Attorney General and General Counsel for the Oklahoma Tax Commission. He earned his BBA from Ohio University and his JD from The Ohio State University.
Hendricks practices law at Crowe & Dunlevy, where his work focuses on business, cybersecurity, environment and natural resources, criminal defense and administrative and regulatory issues. He is an adjunct professor of cybersecurity law at Oklahoma City University Law School and a former cybersecurity policy fellow in New America’s Cybersecurity Initiative. He earned a BA from Howard University, and master’s degrees in public policy and administration and in politics and communications from the London School of Economics. He was a Marshall Scholar and earned his JD from Harvard University Law School.
The Foundation for OCCC is a 501(c)(3) established by local business and education leaders to increase educational opportunities for students at OCCC. The Board of Trustees – composed of 12 community leaders – provides fiscal and policy oversight for the Foundation, and assists in the Foundation’s fundraising initiatives.
