Oklahoma City Community College (OCCC) will host two virtual events to help students navigate the college admissions process and learn about academic programs: Virtual Preview Week and Facebook Live Q&A.
OCCC has transformed the annual spring Preview Day into Virtual Preview Week, with multiple live webinars hosted via Zoom May 4-8. Virtual Preview Week includes sessions with 18 different academic programs, and additional sessions scheduled to discuss financial aid, advising, student support services, TRiO and Students Connecting with Mentors for Success (SCMS). Prospective students are encouraged to pre-register at www.previewoccc.com . The site will later be updated to include recordings of the completed webinars for those that couldn’t attend.
OCCC will host a Q&A session via Facebook Live (@OtripleC) on May 12 at noon, where prospective students and parents can ask questions about the admissions process, including how to obtain and process documents amid COVID-19 closures.
“We know how overwhelming the college admissions process can be for new students,†said Michael Hoggatt, Director of Recruitment and Admissions. “These events are designed to give students the information and face time they would have received with a visit to campus. Our ultimate goal is to help students get what they need to start college in the summer or fall.â€
OCCC’s physical campus remains closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The college recently transitioned all summer classes online. For more information about summer enrollment, visit www.thinkoccc.com .
