Oklahoma City Community College (OCCC) student Cullen Smith has been selected as a Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise scholar. The distinction is presented each year by the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation to 200 Phi Theta Kappa students across the nation. The distinction puts Smith in elite company across college campuses in the United States, and comes with a cash scholarship.
“We are so proud of Cullen and his tremendous achievement,â€ said OCCC President Jerry Steward. “Oklahoma City Community College invests heavily in student success and community enrichment, and we are privileged to have Cullen Smith on our campus.â€
Cullen Smith is a graduate of Western Heights High School in Oklahoma City. A music major at OCCC, Smith plans to attend the University of Central Oklahoma after graduation to pursue a degree in Music Education.
“I’m so excited to receive this award,â€ said Cullen Smith. “It just shows how much you can do if you never give up.â€
Oklahoma City Community College enrolls over 17,000 students annually. Thousands more are served in non-credit classes and programs. The college has more than 60 fields of study and offers associate degrees, certifications and leadership opportunities.
