Oklahoma City Community College recently added four staff members to its Development Office to more effectively facilitate the charitable interests of donors who support the college’s initiatives.
“We are excited about the new team of experienced and connected fundraising professionals,†said Von Allen, OCCC chief development officer. “Private giving helps ensure that OCCC will continue to offer programs to students and the community that are relevant, rigorous, accessible, affordable and convenient.â€
Chris Collins and Laura Ketchum are serving as major gifts officers. Collins served in a similar capacity at the University of Oklahoma’s Colleges of Nursing and Medicine. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma and a master’s degree from OU.
Ketchum served as the employee giving manager at Allied Arts before joining the OCCC staff. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Western Michigan University and a master’s degree from Southern Oregon University.
Evelyn Schaefer Bollenbach is serving as the annual gifts officer. She previously served as the senior director for development and communications at Children’s Hospital Foundation. She earned a bachelor’s degree from University of Central Oklahoma and an MBA from Oklahoma City University.
Providing administrative support is Phyllis Burk, a graduate of OCCC. She joined the team from Oklahoma State University-Oklahoma City.
OCCC enrolls more than 20,000 students annually. The college is currently the largest adult basic education provider in the state. OCCC offers a full range of associate degree programs that prepare students to transfer to baccalaureate institutions while other degree and certificate programs prepare students for immediate employment.
