The Future Alumni Network at Oklahoma City Community College (OCCC) is proud to present the second annual “OCCC’s Got Talent!,” a performance showcase for the entire OCCC family and a fundraiser for OCCC student scholarships.
Students, faculty, staff, and graduates of OCCC are all eligible and invited to apply to show off their hidden or not-so-hidden talents in a contest to be held Tuesday, April 16, in front of a live audience in the Bruce Owen Theater on the OCCC campus. Entry deadline is Friday, March 6.
Singers, musicians, actors, dancers, rappers, jugglers, magicians, comics, unusual souls, and talented performers of all types are welcome to submit video or audio clips for an online audition. A diverse group of finalists will be selected to perform onstage at the “OCCC’s Got Talent” event in April. Cash prizes will be awarded to winning contestants.
Two Ways To Win Cash Prizes:
One grand prize winner will be determined by voting of a panel of celebrity judges at the end of the competition. A second grand prize will be claimed by the finalist who raises the most donations for the OCCC Foundation Scholarship Fund. An additional cash prize will be awarded to the contestant who garners the most support from the live audience during the contest.
How To Apply:
If you are a student, faculty member, staff member, or graduate of Oklahoma City Community College interested in being a contestant in the “OCCC’s Got Talent” event, visit /talent, fill out the application and submit a clip that showcases your particular talent to be considered by the selection committee. A non-refundable $5 application fee is required.
Finalists will be contacted in March and provided details about the competition for both Grand Prizes. (If your talent doesn’t wow the judges, your fundraising abilities and the generous support of your family and friends certainly can.)
OCCC’s Got Talent! Rules:
• Any type of talent/performance is eligible to apply, solo-act or multiple member, however, due to event logistics, it is strongly suggested that acts involve no more than three (3) persons, and that if any equipment or props are required that they be very minimal (Seriously, no 4-piece rock bands with big drum kits and Marshall stacks!) A limited number of microphones and a piano will be present and available for use.
• No application will be accepted without the accompanying $5 application fee.
• No application will be accepted after the posted deadline has passed.
• Applicants must consent to allow their images, sounds, likenesses, or intellectual property to be used in promotional materials for “OCCC’s Got Talent!” without compensation.
• Finalists’ performances must comply with accepted standards of public decency. Please keep it family friendly!
• Finalists MUST be open and available for any contest-related rehearsal, instruction, performance, ceremony or promotional requirements on Thursday, April 16, 11 a.m to 10 p.m.
• Entry deadline is March 6.
