Learn how to respond to aggression in the workplace and thus maintain a positive work environment at an upcoming workshop offered by OCCC’s Professional Development Institute’s (PDI).
With recent local headlines, violence in the workplace is a relevant topic that may be of concern of employees in even the most supportive work environment. Covering varying levels of violence from bullying to intimidation to fighting, this workshop will empower participants to deal with as well as lessen instances of workplace disorder and hostility.
The class will be offered as both a one-day and three-day workshop at the PDI Crossroads Facility, 7124 I- 35 Service Road. Participants who complete the course will receive a Certificate of Completion from OCCC.

Randy Yount, a retired law enforcement official, will teach the course. Yount has experience as a safety consultant and a corporate and personal defensive services trainer. Additionally, Yount is ASSE safety engineer certified, an environmental health and safety specialist and an Occupational Safety and Health Administration outreach trainer for the construction and general industry.
This awareness program will provide participants with an in-depth and eye-opening experience into the tragic reality of workplace violence. Topics addressed during the workshop include: Situational Awareness, Knowing Your Peers, Having a Survival Mindset, Having an Individual Plan of Action and Role of Law Enforcement.
