Being a college professor is Professor Fike’s dream job! Jennifer Fike joined OCCC in 2019, having taught as an adjunct instructor at UCO for several years and at OCCC for a short time. She enjoys teaching a wide variety of courses but has a special passion for composition, believing that everyone is a writer with something important to say. Professor Fike was raised in Canada, attended high school in Seattle, Washington, and completed her undergraduate degree in English in Texas and her Master’s degree in English at UCO in Edmond. Coming to Oklahoma was a homecoming because although she hadn’t lived here before, her great-grandparents farmed in Custer County. Living and learning in such diverse communities has caused Professor Fike to deeply value multiculturalism and multilingualism, which is the foundation of her PhD research at the University of OKlahoma where she is studying translingual composition pedagogy and curriculum.
