He began as a student, returned as an adjunct professor, and he looks forward to continuing his journey as a professor of English in the Division of Arts, English, and Humanities. For more than twenty years, Professor Daubenspeck has taught a variety of English, humanities, and film courses in Oklahoma, California, and Florida. In addition to OCCC, he has taught at the University of California, Los Angeles; the University of Oklahoma; Santa Monica College; and Broward College in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. While an M.F.A. candidate at the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television, he had the privilege of learning from some of Hollywood’s top professionals, including Gilbert Cates, David Hoberman, Arnold Rifkin, Brad Silberling, and Amy Brenneman. He served as co-executive producer of UCLA’s Screenwriters Showcase, an annual event honoring the creative works of screenwriters from the Master of Fine Arts program. He has won numerous awards for his writing, including the Jack Nicholson Prize in Screenwriting.
