Pharmacy Tech Program

Pharmacy Technician: Basic Prescriptions & Dispensing

This course consists of 50 classroom hours and prepares students for the national Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam (PTCE).

Curriculum includes instruction on Oklahoma state regulations, insurance restrictions, mathematics, applicable law, nomenclature, basic IV admixture, computerized pharmacy systems and skills needed to work in retail pharmacies and hospitals. Coursework includes classroom exercises and competency reviews.

Prerequisites for the class include a high school diploma or GED, and you must have a clean background. A Certificate of Completion will be awarded upon successful completion of the class (80% or better).  Students intersted in obtaining certififation are encouraged to register for the PTCE exam after completing this course.

The Pharmacy Technician program is taught by a certified Pharmacy Technician.

Dates: June 1- July 27th 2020 (no class on July 20th)
Days: Mondays and Wednesdays
Time: 6 - 9 p.m.
Cost: $700 due at the time of registration
(Includes 50 hours of instruction, textbooks approved by the American Pharmacists Association, and access to OCCC's Math Lab.)
