      OCCC to expand scheduling flexibility with 8-week terms

      Oklahoma City Community College (OCCC) will change the length of term for the majority of courses by moving from one 16-week semester to two 8-week terms beginning fall 2020. OCCC will be the first college in Oklahoma to make this important switch designed to give students more flexibility.

      OCCC Community Invited to Comment on Campus Police Accreditation

      A team of assessors from the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators (IACLEA) will arrive on March 1, 2020 as part of the Oklahoma City Community College Campus Police Department's (OCCC CPD) voluntary efforts to receive IACLEA accreditation. If accredited, OCCC CPD would be the only campus police department in the state to receive this international accreditation.

      OCCC Celebrates the Dream at MLK, Jr. Holiday Parade

      Oklahoma City Community College (OCCC) students and employees walked in the Martin Luther King (MLK) Jr. Holiday Parade hosted Jan. 20 in downtown Oklahoma City. Thousands of attendees lined the streets to take part in the third largest MLK Jr. Parade in the United States. This year's theme was "40 Years Better Together," and marked the 40th year of MLK Jr. Holiday Coalition's involvement in the parade.

      OCCC Professor Speaks at Oklahoma Women's March 2020

      Oklahoma City Community College (OCCC) professor, Dr. Nyla Ali Khan, spoke at the Oklahoma Women's March 2020 Jan. 25. The march took place at Scissortail Park in Oklahoma City, and more than 350 people attended the event. In her speech, Dr. Khan honored the bravery of Nadia Murad, an Iraqi Yazidi activist, and victim of sexual violence. Dr. Khan praised Murad's resilience in the face of horrific mistreatment and violence.
