Nursing
Program Overview
Oklahoma City Community College offers a 70-71 credit hour nursing program. Graduates
are eligible to apply for the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered
Nurses. Students successfully completing the program will earn an Associate in Applied
Science degree.
Upon successful completion of the Nursing Program at Oklahoma City Community College, students will be able to:
- Collaborate with the client, family, significant others, and members of the healthcare team to utilize the nursing process in the provision of holistic, individualized, and culturally sensitive care.
- Effectively communicate with the nursing and interdisciplinary team in the provision of client-centered care.
- Promote safe, quality, nursing care within healthcare teams that ensures a caring environment and supports multidimensional needs of clients and families.
- Role model professional nursing role expectations, including accountability, ethics, legal standards, and values.
- Integrate evidence-based practice and clinical reasoning skills during the coordination and
- Implement client care technologies, information systems, and communication devices that support safe nursing practice and development of nursing knowledge.
