Automotive Technology
Oklahoma City Community College students completing automotive programs are placed and well-prepared to enter and succeed in the automotive industry.
All automotive programs combine work in the classroom, lab activities, and practical on-the-job experience in industry-approved work sites. Qualified applicants will receive assistance from the college in obtaining a sponsor through prearranged dealer/student interviews.

Upon successful completion of the Automotive Technology Program at Oklahoma City Community College, students will be able to:
Automotive Technology Internship Program (ATIP)
- Diagnose and repair vehicles using manufacturer specific tools, technology, and service procedures per OEM specifications.
- Perform basic automotive inspection, maintenance, and repair tasks using industry standard tools and procedures in a real workplace setting.
- Apply classroom knowledge on the job by working alongside automotive professionals and following accepted safety and quality standards for various OEMs.
- Demonstrate professional workplace skills, including reliability, communication, teamwork, and readiness for entry level employment in the automotive industry.
- Document the needed repairs using industry specific terms and language that meet specific OEM requirements.
Automotive Service Educational Program (ASEP)
- Diagnose and repair General Motors vehicles using manufacturer specific tools, technology, and service procedures.
- Perform basic automotive inspection, maintenance, and repair tasks using industry standard tools and procedures in a real workplace setting.
- Apply hands on technical skills in a dealership setting through a structured combination of classroom learning and paid work experience.
- Demonstrate professional and safety standards expected by GM dealerships, preparing graduates for entry level technician careers.
- Document the needed repairs using industry specific terms and language that meet GM warranty requirements.
