Visual Arts

Upon successful completion of the Art/Visual Arts Program at Oklahoma City Community College, students will be able to:

• Demonstrate mastery of the elements of art and principles of design by constructing compositions in two and three dimensions.
• Analyze significant artistic movements and styles across diverse global traditions, using appropriate terminology to interpret how art reflects and shapes cultures throughout history.
• Demonstrate creative problem-solving by producing original artwork and applying critical evaluation to refine the relationship between artistic intent and visual communication.
• Demonstrate foundational techniques and skills across a range of artistic media.
• Develop a professional portfolio for public exhibition, representing a synthesis of their best work, and reflecting their creative growth and technical skill.
