Title III Course Redesign – Year 5
Course Redesign – Year 5
Four gateway courses participated in the Title-III redesign process during Year 5: Accounting II/Managerial, Human Anatomy & Physiology, Humanities—Classical/Medieval, and Introduction to Statistics. Meeting weekly with the Title-III Curriculum Specialist and Project/Activity Director, faculty teams followed the Understanding by Design framework to redesign their courses.
Teams analyzed the potential barriers to student success stemming from the previous design of their courses and worked with the Curriculum Specialist to revise objectives, add resources, incorporate engaging activities, and align assessments and materials to this new design. In addition, faculty members worked to incorporate new teaching modalities into these courses to better support OCCC’s rich and diverse student population.
Faculty Training on Revised Curriculum
At the conclusion of the course redesign process, various faculty who were to teach the newly-redesigned courses participated in a training, developed and hosted by the team members, on the updates and resources available to support instruction of these four courses.
