What do you like best about your classes?

The teachers are very supportive - you get a lot of one on one attention.

What are your plans following graduation?

It’s my goal, after I graduate with my associate degree, to get my bachelor’s, then my master’s. I want to teach English at the high school level while I’m studying to get my master’s. Eventually I’ll make the jump to teach at the college level.

Would you recommend OCCC to friends and if so, why?

Yes, I’d recommend OCCC to my friends. It’s overwhelming to think of going to a large university. Here at OCCC, you have the change to step in slowly, get to know your instructors, and understand their expectations of you – college is different than high school.

What else can you share about your academic experience?

Currently I work in the Writing Center on campus at OCCC. It’s the best job ever leading into my career. I am thankful for the opportunities here.
