Oklahoma City Community College’s (OCCC) Professional Development Institute (PDI), a center of excellence for continuing education and workforce development, will offer an American Payroll Association (APA) PayTrain Mastery course in preparation for the Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) exam starting Monday, March 6, 2017.
The four-week, $825 course designed by the APA meets the specific educational needs of payroll professionals and those involved with payroll-related businesses. This course covers the skills and body of knowledge deemed critical by the APA and is the basis for the CPP exam.
“This class is great for professional bookkeepers, accounting clerks, payroll practitioners, compensation professionals, HR payroll managers and payroll administrators and managers wanting to prepare for the CPP exam,” Jean Hayes, payroll instructor, said.
The course will also include payroll concepts, payroll calculations, fringe benefits, payroll reporting and employment taxes, record keeping and payroll practices, payroll accounting and management and administration. Students will receive three workbooks approved by the APA and access to module content and interactive software components online.
“Participants can look forward to the latest and most accurate information organized to provide a logical flow of information through content online and interactive games, tests and exercises designed with the CPP exam in mind,” says PDI Director John Claybon.
The course will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. each Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, with no class during spring break, at the PDI building, 7124 S. I-35 Service Road. For more information, please contact Kirstin Krug at (405) 682-7856 or firstname.lastname@example.org, or visit /pdi.
