What’s It Like to Take an Online Class?
OCCC Online Courses
Earn college credit in an online environment which provides flexibility in the times you choose to interact with your course content. Weekly course work is expected, in addition to Internet access. Some courses may require on-campus or proctored exams.
Instructors use a variety of instructional strategies and course activities in online courses, just as in an on-campus course. Online courses may include the use of email, online discussions, live chats, reading, web resources, interactive quizzes, and other activities.
When will my courses be available?
Courses will be made available to students by the first day of class. Be sure to log in on the first day of class.
How do I login?
Navigate to online.occc.edu. By default, your login info is set to:
Username: firstname.middleinitial.lastname@my.occc.edu (your OCCC Student Email address)
Password: last six digits of social security number (no dashes or spaces)
If you are not able to log in with the default info, contact the Help Desk at 405-682-7777, or visit www.occc.edu/get-my-username
I’m logged in, what now?
It is recommended that you complete the Moodle Orientation course, listed in your My Courses list. The orientation will introduce you to Moodle navigation and let you practice completing the different types of activities you will encounter in your courses.
Where will I take my exams?
Some online courses may require on-campus or proctored exams. This information is available in the course description. For specific questions regarding testing in your course, please contact your instructor.
On the first day of class, your courses will appear in your My Courses list. Be sure to check each of your Moodle courses on the first day of class for information such as the syllabus and course schedule.
