Oklahoma City Community College (OCCC) and Oklahoma City Repertory Theatre (CityRep) have again partnered with National Theatre Live! (NTL) to present theater productions to audiences in the college’s Visual and Performing Arts Center (VPAC) Theater. The final NTL screening of the 2017-2018 season is “Yerma†Sunday, May 6, 2018, at 6 p.m.
The incredible Billie Piper (“Penny Dreadful,†“Great Britainâ€) returns in her Olivier Award-winning role. A young woman is driven to the unthinkable by her desperate desire to have a child, in Simon Stone’s radical production of Lorca’s achingly powerful masterpiece. Set in contemporary London, Piper’s portrayal of a woman in her thirties struggling to conceive builds with elemental force to a staggering, shocking climax.
The screening of “Yerma†does not have an intermission and the performance contains strobe lighting. All NTL events at OCCC are encore presentations pre-recorded in high-definition.
The showing begins at 6 p.m. in the college’s VPAC Theater. Adult tickets are now available online for $15 at tickets.occc.edu. Children and student tickets are available at the door for $5. For tickets or information visit tickets.occc.edu or call 405-682-7579.
