Oklahoma City Community College’s (OCCC) Professional Development Institute (PDI) will be hosting a Wine Selection for Professionals webinar beginning Tuesday, August 8, 2017.
The four-session, instructor-led course is designed to give decision-makers the necessary fundamentals of wine selection at business functions and other professional social events. The four sessions include: Sensory Development, Introduction to Leading Grape Varietals, Sparkling Wines of the World, and Food and Wine Pairing Fundamentals.
The course is conducted by The Wine Sisters, Courtney and Erin, based out of Toronto. The Wine Sisters have hosted corporate tastings and tours for clients such as Richter LLP, Mackenzie Financial, Google Canada, Scotiabank, Shell, Fidelity Investments, Accenture and Dell.
The Wine Sisters are wine and spirit instructors at George Brown College in Toronto. They are also wine reviewers for Vines magazine, wine judges for Intervin, an international competition of wine available to the Canadian market, and have acted as moderators for wine discussions during the Gourmet Food and Wine Show and Savour Stratford. Their wine writing has been featured regularly in theloop.ca, Huffington Post, Tonic Magazine and “Wine in Canada,” a special Maclean’s publication focusing on the Canadian wine industry.
The sessions take place online August 8, 15, 22 and 29, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuition for the course is $195. Participants will receive a list of wines to purchase and a downloadable student course pack upon registration.
