Oklahoma City Community College’s (OCCC) Professional Development Institute (PDI) will host an open house Thursday, Sept. 24 at 3:30 p.m. showcasing the facility in which professionals have the opportunity to develop their skills and knowledge.
The PDI at OCCC is dedicated to enhancing economic growth and the quality of life for businesses and individuals by providing timely, cost effective, highly focused education, training and consulting services to improve workforce skill levels.
Along with OCCC faculty and staff, members of the community are encouraged to attend the event in order to learn more about the PDI and what it has to offer. There will be a short presentation at 3:45 p.m. beginning with a welcome from President Jerry Steward, and a few brief words from the PDI director, John Claybon. There are many programs and courses available to professionals who are seeking to further their education through professional development. Some examples include an alternative fuels program, a pharmacy tech program, a commercial food equipment service technician program, business courses, as well as beginning conversational Spanish courses.
The PDI utilizes a network of partners with extensive resources which provides the capacity and ability to deliver successful and sustainable problem-solving services to every industry and company size. The PDI designs and delivers innovations, improvements and solutions with a commitment to ongoing performance support that works best for your business, locally, nationally and internationally.
OCCC serves more than 28,000 students each year. In addition to the PDI programs, the college offers a full range of community education programs and associate degree programs that prepare students to transfer to baccalaureate institutions while other degree and certificate programs prepare students for immediate employment in a variety of fields.
