Professional Development Training Programs
The Office of Professional Development offers a wide range of training programs and learning opportunities. In addition, the department is charged with the responsibility of coordinating professional development activities that enhance the effectiveness of OCCC employees while utilizing resources efficiently.
Competency based experiential learning models along with a combination of motivational theories are applied to enhance each participants level of knowledge, skills and ability.
New Employee Academy: an immersion of the employee into the culture and the mission of the college. Required health and safety training, online Sexual Harassment Prevention training, Technology Training and informational sessions to better connect the new employee with the different service areas and policies and procedures of the college.
Technology training: Continuous sessions offered through the Office of Professional Development in Microsoft Office (Access, Excel, InfoPath, Lync, Outlook, OneNote, PowerPoint, Publisher, SharePoint, Visio, and Word) and Datatel Colleague with related programs, such as, Business Objects and MineOnline. Sessions customized for specific departments and divisions may be scheduled through the Coordinator of Technology Training at x7103. Class listings and registration are provided in MineOnline.
Leadership OCCC: including elective sessions designed to enhance the learning of the competencies as outlined in the program model
In-house certificate programs: designed for skill sets training for supervisors and managers
Internal CEU offerings: for other specified skill sets such as: technology, office management, communication, administrative assistant, et.al.

Sexual Harassment Prevention training
: Oklahoma City Community College requires all employees to complete an online Preventing Sexual Harassment training session every two years. This online session is a convenient, easy way to complete training and it is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year on any computer.

Leadership Development: programs offered locally and nationally.
* The required health and safety training sessions will be offered with a structured schedule and coincide with quarterly compliance requirements in cooperation with the Office of Risk Management/Environmental Health and Safety.
