Lowering Your COVID-19 Related Medical Costs

Colleagues,

It is clear that our best methods of containing the spread of COVID-19 in our community are social distancing, early testing, and aggressive treatment. That is why Oklahoma City Community College notified Blue Cross Blue Shield of Oklahoma that we will waive employee cost-sharing – including deductibles, copayments and coinsurance – related to treatment for COVID-19 at all in-network facilities, and treatment for out-of-network emergencies, from April 1, 2020 to May 31, 2020.

In short, this means you are not subject to in-network healthcare payments related to seeking testing or treatment for symptoms related to COVID-19. If you are experiencing symptoms related to COVID-19, or believe you may have been exposed to the virus, you now have even easier access to the critical medical services you need. Please, for the safety of your colleagues, families and yourselves, seek out these services.
