Career Ladder Pathway
The career ladder pathway is designed to facilitate educational mobility for licensed practical nurses and Oklahoma licensed paramedics who wish to earn their associate’s degree in nursing.
Up to 72 students are admitted to the career ladder pathway each fall. The curriculum consists of 71-72 credit hours, 35-36 hours of which are in general education/support credits; 18 hours of nursing credits earned through 13 credit hours of advanced standing plus a 5 credit hour transition course; and 18 hours of nursing credits earned through enrollment. This pathway is designed to be completed in two semesters once enrolled in the nursing core courses.
Graduates of the career ladder pathway receive an associate’s degree in nursing and are eligible to sit for the state examination for licensure (NCLEX-RN) as a registered nurse.
