Civic Honors and Service Learning
The Civic Honors Program at OCCC recognize students who demonstrate an outstanding commitment to both civic involvement and personal life development. Current OCCC students are given the opportunity to serve both on and/or off campus. OCCC has over 140 diverse community partner agencies with volunteer options like the United Way, the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma, the Oklahoma City Zoo, Oklahoma City Public Schools, and many more. Service opportunities may also be found on campus including voter registration, event support, and the OCCC Clothing Closet and Food Pantry.
Civic Engagement—30 hours of service
Civic Impact—50 hours of service
Civic Excellence—80 hours of service
All programs include the following requirements:
- Creating a portfolio with beneficial items for future educational and career endeavors
- One required online mid-program assessment throughout your service program
- Completion of an online reflection of service learning experience including submission of resume and academic transcript
- Award with recognition at the Awards Ceremony and Commencement in the Spring
