I am a full-time Professor within the Department of Psychology and have been at OCCC for six years. I hold a New York State and Oklahoma Teacher Certificate for Secondary Education in Social Studies. During my undergraduate degree I trained as a teacher but during graduate school, the opportunity to teach at the community college creating a new path in life. Having graduated from a community college and believing in its mission, I have found an environment that is consistent with my values. The classes that I teach have been listed but I also teach them on campus and online. Beyond teaching, I also serve students as a Faculty Advisor for Psychology majors. Past courses that I have taught include Interpersonal Relations, Adolescent Psychology, Educational Psychology, and guided Education majors in their field placement. Before teaching at OCCC, I was a full-time faculty member at Monroe Community College in Rochester, NY. Family and personal reasons brought me to the Sooner (or Cowboy) State.My professional areas of interest are Secondary Education, Community Psychology, and Counseling Psychology. I currently belong to Division 2 (The Society for the Teaching of Psychology)and Division 27 (The Society for Community Research and Action) of the American Psychological Association.
