Dana Glencross

Dana K. Glencross, Professor of Political Science at Oklahoma City Community College (OCCC) since 1989, was a Moore, Oklahoma, High School honor graduate and has lived in south Oklahoma City most of her life. Her degrees are from Oklahoma State University, with a B.A. in English and an M.A. in Political Science, with additional graduate-level coursework in English. Within the Political Science discipline, she specializes in American Federal Government, particularly in Congress and law, and comparative politics. Prior to teaching at OCCC, Dana was an instructor of English, History, and Government at Murray State College in Tishomingo, Oklahoma. Among her current duties, Dana teaches campus and online courses in American Federal Government, Introduction to Law, and State and Local Government. She also serves as an online adjunct instructor at Seminole State College. She has authored and published numerous materials for various textbook publishers. She previously served as the Department Chair for Political Science, History, and Geography, and served for many years as a Co-Advisor to the College’s honorary society, Phi Theta Kappa, where she was also elected as the National Chair of the Association of Chapter Advisors. She has been awarded OCCC’s “President’s Award for Excellence in Teaching,” was twice recognized as OCCC’s Student Club and Organization Sponsor of the Year, and has been recognized as the Oklahoma Political Science Association’s Teacher of the Year for two-year colleges. In the community, Dana served for many years as a Governor’s appointee to the Oklahoma Commission for Teacher Preparation, was on the board of the Oklahoma City/County Historical Society, and frequently is a political consultant to local candidates. She currently serves as a board member of the Oklahoma State University College of Arts & Sciences Alumni Board. She often appears as an invited guest on local radio and television programs, typically discussing upcoming elections.
