Nuala South received her degrees from the University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma State University. She has worked as a speech-language pathologist since 1981, specializing in the field of augmentative and alternative communication with children and adults with developmental disabilities and acquired disabilities. She has presented at a number of state conferences and local associations, as well as conducting workshops and trainings, all related to augmentative and alternative communication. Nuala has taught Augmentative and Alternative Communication at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center and Oklahoma State University. Nuala is now employed as an AAC sales consultant for Tobii Dynavox for Oklahoma and Arkansas. She provides assistance with trainings, demonstrations, evaluations, and funding for communication devices for adults and children. Nuala has served as President, Vice-President, Membership Chair and Honors and Awards Chair for the Oklahoma Speech-Language- Hearing Association. She has also served a three-year term on the Oklahoma Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists. She has received the Gwen Cacy Award and Honors of the Association from the Oklahoma Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
