Mr. Myrick is from Poplarville, MS where he received his associates degree from Pearl River Community College. He is a third generation recipient of an associates degree and is a firm believer of the the community college system. He later went on to receive his bachelors and masters degrees from Mississippi State University in economics with an minor emphasis in both degrees in political science. He taught at Mississippi State University as a student teacher for one year and later taught at Dyersburg State Community College in Dyersburg, TN for 5 years before coming to Oklahoma City College.Mr. Myrick has been employed as a full time professor at OCCC since August 2009. He also works sparingly for Embry Riddle University and Oklahoma Christian as an economics professor.Mr. Myrick is a firm believer in students reading their textbooks to receive as much information as possible and for students not to rely on lectures alone. His beliefs include that the student should never stop trying to learn new things. For this belief, Mr. Myrick still considers himself a student for life.
